What is the next Process after qualifying the NDA exam?

What will happen if I qualify for the NDA exam?
Once you’ve cleared the NDA 1 2025 written exam, the next step is to register for the SSB Interview. After the result declaration, you will receive a SSB Interview Call Letter from the Indian Army.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown: (Apply For 406 Posts of UPSC NDA & NA-II Recruitment 2025)
- 1. SSB Interview:Candidates who clear the NDA written exam are invited to the Services Selection Board (SSB) for an interview. This interview is a comprehensive process designed to evaluate candidates on various aspects, including personality, intelligence, and physical fitness.
- Stage 1: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT).
- Stage 2: Psychological tests (Thematic Apperception Test, Word Association Test, Situation Reaction Test, Self Description Test), group testing (group discussions, group planning, physical tasks), and personal interview.
- 2. Medical Examination:Successful candidates at the SSB undergo a rigorous medical examination at military hospitals to ensure their fitness.
- 3. Merit List and Training:After the medical examination, a final merit list is prepared based on the combined marks of the written exam and the SSB interview. Candidates are then admitted to the National Defence Academy (NDA) for three years of academic and military training.
- 4. Commissioning: Upon completion of their training at NDA and at their respective service academies (Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy), candidates are commissioned as officers in the Indian Armed Forces.
